The survey was carried out between 4 and 15 February. The employees of all the BB Centrum tenants were asked to complete an on-line questionnaire prepared in both Czech and English. The aim of this unique survey was to collect new data about their attitudes and opinions pertaining to the entire complex and its adjacent area, as well as the quality of the particular buildings, where they spend the majority of their time. Furthermore, it aimed to check the level of their satisfaction with services available at BB Centrum.
“We are keenly interested in observations of every individual because they might facilitate the further development of the entire locality and the services available there. This year, all 30 companies participated in the survey, and we are pleased to record an above-average return-rate of the completed questionnaires. I do appreciate that people are interested in the fate of the complex,” said Radim Passer, Chairman of the Board, PASSERINVEST GROUP, in his comment on the survey.
The questionnaires with 90 questions were distributed to 7,365 employees of each of the 30 companies which are based in BB Centrum, including Telefónica O2, ČEZ, GE Money Bank, Microsoft, SITRONICS, Hewlett-Packard and PUMA. A total of 2,488 questionnaires were returned and, of these, 1,861 had over 80% of the questions completed. This proportion was a crucial criterion for considering the outcome adequate. Nevertheless, all of the open-ended answers that were received were taken into consideration.
What are the results of the survey? First of all, it has confirmed that the most frequently used services are a pharmacy, the post office, cash dispensers, a tobacconist and gift shop, a Maranatha shop and a Just Trading newsagent. The Pizzeria Grosseto is the most frequently visited restaurant, with the Hacienda Mexicana coming second.
Furthermore, the survey has concluded that the most sought-after service is a food store selling fruit, vegetables and bakery goods. Such a shop is demanded by 45% of respondents. A prospective supermarket or a small food store located at BB Centrum would be attended by 80% of respondents at least once a week and by 34% of them on a daily basis. A total of 25% of respondents express an interest in the extension of catering services, and even 36% of people want a fast food or takeaway facility. It is hoped that most of these wishes will be met with the opening of building FILADELFIE in summer 2010. We have entered negotiations with service operators, and FILADELFIE will provide a supermarket with a drugstore and fast food facilities, such as a sandwich bar and a sushi/fish bar (both of them with takeaway options) and a Czech restaurant. Besides, a dry-cleaner and laundry, as well as a notary are also under negotiation.
As for the traffic situation, 88% of the respondents using public transport are satisfied with the access to BB Centrum. The majority commutes from Prague 4 (17 %), the Central Bohemian Region (16%) and Prague 10 (10 %). The traffic situation has been also dealt with in connection with the topic of public transport and shuttle bus service. The latter was laid on in May 2007, and it is perceived by 92% of respondents as an asset.
Two competitions were organised to create incentives to participation in the survey, and the winners have already received valuable prizes. With two previous surveys, the successful Czech development company, PASSERINVET GROUP, have demonstrated that they care about the fate of the BB Centrum site. Based on the two previous surveys´ results, a Czech Post office, a pharmacy and a car wash centre have been opened and a range of restaurants have been extended. Similarly, the aforementioned and praised shuttle bus service has also been operated at the tenants’ suggestions.
