BB Centrum, now a full-fledged city district, began to grow in Prague 4 – Michle ten years ago. Not withstanding the initial plans for modern office buildings, the architects of BB Centrum have been respecting contemporary urban principles that are behind the construction of new city districts since the very beginning. Such a city district must serve a great variety of purposes in order to ensure that it can function well, constantly improving the quality of life of its residents along with people from adjacent areas. Accordingly, a mix of shops, services, restaurants and apartments has been developed there, in addition to offices. Nearing completion is the construction of Brumlovka, with a wellness & fitness club, restaurants, a post office, a hairdresser’s and a number of other services. Furthermore, the BB Centrum scheme includes two parks and a community centre with a kindergarten/school and lecture halls.
It is its easy accessibility along with the variety of services available to both its tenants and people from Prague 4 that brings BB Centrum a considerable advantage. Besides Telefónica O2’s Client Service and café, Building A houses a newsagent & tobacconist’s and a drycleaner’s. An office of GE Money Bank, including a cash dispenser, can be found in Building B, while a solar studio, a tobacconist’s and photo processing services are in Building C. Doctors’ surgeries and a pharmacy are in the buildings known as Residence and Office Park. On the ground floor of Building Alpha, there is a healthy diet and natural cosmetics shop, Maranatha. Building Beta houses the Hacienda Mexicana restaurant, a Samsung showroom and the office of SIXT Car Rental, including TICKET-PRO ticket sales. In addition, this November will see the opening of a consultation centre/advance sale of tickets for the wellness and fitness centre of Balance Club Brumlovka. The services located at BB Centrum benefit both the staff of the companies based on its premises and people from the adjacent areas. “It is further development of services in line with the growth of BB Centrum that is a guarantee that people will not only work, but also spend their leisure time here,” says Zbyněk Passer, Member of the Board of Directors, Passerinvest Group. Thanks to its wide range of services on offer, BB Centrum completes the infrastructure of Michle, constituting its essential part.
About fifty per cent of the plan for BB Centrum has been already implemented – in other words, the list of completed buildings contains C, B, A, D, Office Park, Residence as well as Alpha and Beta. Apart from the shopping and sports centre Brumlovka, buildings Gamma and E are also currently under construction, with both of the latter being fully leased prior completion (the tenants of buildings Gamma and E are Telefónica O2 and ČEZ respectively). The three mentioned buildings are scheduled for completion at the turn of 2006/2007. Each of the buildings of BB Centrum offers ample parking in addition to common spaces for catering, shops and services. It is envisaged that over 9,000 employees will work at BB Centrum at the end of 2006.
